To anyone who has posted information on this Admiral link I would love to hear from you if you knew people who used to work for ABC Hosiery or Cook and Hurst. We are trying to piece together what happened with the Admiral brand between the early 1920's and the late 60's as our history is patchy. If you have any info or know any family members who worked at the factory let me know. mike@admiralsportswear.com. Thank you!

I've seen sets of the mid 70s Admiral England tracksuit on eBay recently, 'new' and boxed, unfortunately they were only done in kids' sizes.

love the books. Proper shirts and no sponsor logos or names. Remember having a Palace shirt with the logo down the sleeve, similar to this years kit. First shirt I bought my son was a York City admiral shirt with the coventy style hockey sticks. Wonderful memories, somebody would make a fortune if they made these designs available again.

I found this forum via a google search for the Spurs (yellow) shirt from 77-79, it was my first Spurs shirt and i spent many a detention due to wearing it in class as soon as it was clean again, this shirt along with the white home version were my entire wardrobe.

I loved the Admiral designs along the sleeves and collars, before this company took the game by the scruff of its 30 year basic kit collar the kits were like subutteo teams, one kit = approx 12 differing sides (if you recall).

I wore out at least 3 of the away shirts until the silky poorer looking & feeling basic shirts arrived in 80.

Now I spend my time searching for another one for old times sake.......

ps - Spurs.com are selling the original 77-79 white home shirt complete with Admiral logo's sleeves/ collar from end Sept 08!!!!!

Strange how nobody has ever challenged Admiral over their use of templates.

Whilst Leicester, Luton, West Ham and Spurs Away were all a bit different.

The sleeve stripes of Leeds Away, were similar to Englands, Lots of clubs had the sleeve stipe full of small admirals. (C Palace, Southampton away etc), and the shorts tended to be either a stripe with the admiral signs, or two stripes.

It's a shame that you started your books a couple of seasons too late to enclude most of these shirts.

I have Soccer Stars albums for this period if you need pages scanned, plus various pictures from the period (albeit mainly for Division 1 (as it used, and should be called), clubs.
